These puzzles recreate the stunning artwork of Royce B. McClure, a New Zealander whose bold designs and unique color schemes serve as his instantly recognizable signature.

Born in 1956, Royce has painted as a full-time vocation since 1975. After moving to Australia in 1977 and to Los Angeles in 1981, he recently returned to New Zealand with his wife and four children. There, he paints at his home studio in the seaside town of Mt. Maunganui, drawing inspiration from hobbies he has enjoyed since childhood: diving and tropical fish.

Despite recent trends toward entirely computer-generated graphics, Royce prefers creating actual, tangible pieces of art. Airbrushing is his medium of choice. He may then use a computer to modify an image or prepare it to be enjoyed in other popular forms — such as these challenging and strikingly beautiful puzzles.
